Tinkering Tuesdays
I've been tinkering with my camera. The macro settings for it are really ridiculously hidden: it's like trying to get a secret out of a toddler (except it hides longer than a couple of minutes and won't reveal itself even if you tickle it).
Soon I'll be on break and I'll have tons more pictures. I'll actually be doing things! And so, of course, will have a lot more to reflect on. Although I do have a nice little list (no, you'll have to wait and see) of interesting topics, but this week is so hectic that I can't spend time thinking and writing about something that isn't schoolwork.
That is one of my favorite "portrait" pictures. It's hard to get a child to stand still long enough for something like that. There are two more of him like that, one is adorable and features a big red ball, but the other is mostly a headshot.
There's your toddler: you know he's keeping a secret from me here?
Do you want to know the secret?
Are you sure?
Okay...it's.......oval!
Something tells me that isn't what you wanted to hear.
Cheers!

questions that don't really matter
What do you do if you find yourself attracted to someone's brain or emotional self, but not their body? What about the other way around?
"my father was a janitor at Harvard. my mother was all show and no substance."
--and yet, the one who said that is one of the most brilliant people i know.

And Oldy but a Goody
This "recipe" comes from the deep down places of my heart: this is the snack of my chicken-noodle soup days. Every time I am having a bad day - whether it be physical sickness, stress, emotional overload, overtired-ness, or just plain want-to-crawl-back-under-the-covers-and-lay-there day. On a day like this, I can guarantee you, you do not want to spend time cooking something that will make you feel better. You only have chicken noodle soup if mommy or someone close is making it for you. So this makes the little pick-me-up even better: apple sauce and chocolate chip cookies. Now, I'm a fan of home-cooked applesauce and made-from-scratch cookies, but when I'm not feeling good, Chips Ahoy and Motts will do just the thing. They are my favorite two sweet things put together for a bad day. Just pour yourself some applesauce into a bowl, get a pack of cookies, and plop down anywhere. I like dipping the cookies in applesauce and then nibbling at them when they're soggy, or sometimes just alternating bites can do it. It might sound gross, but try it!
This little combo is perfect for me - at home, there are always the ingredients and at school, I keep a stock of applesauce for breakfast or snacks.
if you're not afraid, try it for a tasty combination!!

The Obligatory First Post
Hello to all my potential viewers! This is going start out a little project of mine - in this blog I will write about anything that strikes my mind - but mostly light stuff (don't expect reviews of the government). I might occasionally be referring back to articles or other sources, in which case I'll provide you all with those links. It will be interesting for me to see how this blog evolves through time and everything. I would like to tell you all that popular topics will include: recipes, the occasional gossip, moral/medical issues, travel, and music.
Of course, that is not a limited, strict plan. Feel free to spread the word, enjoy, and let me know what you want to read about (or what your friends would like to see more of!).
Stay tuned for my first real post...
